Cat Grass Logo Concept
Cat Grass is a fictional cat cafe/plant nursery concept combining bohemian botanical design with the cute and charismatic nature of cats.
Process
Using negative space and silhouette, I drafted up different ideas for the logo. They key ideas I wanted to invoke were cozy, yet modern and clean.
I narrowed my design down to something relatively simple, something that would read as both "cat" and "botanical". Here I played around with the shape and size of the tropical plant within the cat silhouette, looking for the most appealing design. Ultimately I added a pair of whiskers to the logo, because without them, the silhouette looked more like a lily pad than a cat.
Finally, I added the company name and some color to finalize the design. For the typeface, I wanted something that was clean, but still friendly and playful. I settled on Marigny, an Adobe font.
